For the visually impaired an audio introduction has been added to the HOME page and several other pages, including the HISTORY page. I'll be working on better voices as we go along.
March 15th...add to your calendar as it's the 2nd Annual LVRC Lake Mead Float Fly.
Most know that RC flying within park boundaries is not allowed, however, the current park administration has allowed the LVRC to permit Boulder Harbor for the event. This is a great opportunity for the clubs to come together and participate in this unusual event. So put those floats on and come on out. More information is available on the LVRC website. The club would like to give special thanks to all the members that were able to come out to help install the runway extension of Turf Material. We've created a short Youtube video to help immortalize the event, and remind so many why we hurt on Sunday morning.
We had extra special help from Las Vegas Radio Club (LVRC) President Randy Dorn, who come out to help as well. The three RC clubs (LVSC and Propnuts of Las Vegas) are focusing on working closer with each other to help unify and ensure each member of each club gets the absolute most benefit from the hobby. It is with high hopes that this project will make flying more enjoyable and safe for our members. Thank you all again, and thanks to the wives who allowed each of us to step out without any RC aircraft.. Al Badoux, President LVSC The new site (lvsoaring.club) is up and functional. We've streamlined lots of items and pages and removed the slow-loading pictures so that it works better on mobile phones.
It has a very clean, modern look now and looks great on phones. We have tested the membership form through payment and it's working well. We've added several items, such as the Weatherlink app info and instructions, a social media link that feeds directly from the Facebook page, this blog page and an event calendar for local clubs to post their events on for the public to see. This will prevent conflicts as in the past. We're always open to suggestions to improve the site and appreciate your patience while we continue to add or make changes to the site. You can comment on this post and we'll post it through an approval process at the moment. The old site (lvsoaringclub.org) will still be active until a few days into March and has a link to this new site on the front page. Thanks Welcome to the new and hopefully, improved LVSC website. By moving our site to another provider we saved over $200 per year.
